How To Get Into The Industry 

To be an Event Steward you must be over 16 and good with customers, you won’t need any specific Security qualifications but GCSE’s are good to have. However, once you reach 18+ most employers WILL expect you take part in a NVQ Level II in Spectator Safety, NVQ II Customer Service, NVQ II Providing Security Services which are all recognised Industry based qualifications and are becoming necessary to work at many venues.

Event Stewards must enjoy being in a face to face role, dealing with public from all walks of life. They should be prepared to work in different venues and on a range of events & be prepared to work indoors and outdoors throughout the year.

To become an S.I.A you must be over 18 and the only qualification you will need is the 4 day training course that you must do in order to apply for a license.

To become a GOOD S.I.A, you should have a range of experience, you should be confident working in all different Security environments and you should know how to use the authority that comes with having a badge responsibly. You must also remember that a Criminal record can affect your license.
